This is a reproduction of La incredulidad de SantoTomas. The Incredulity of Saint Thomas, by Matthias Storm of about 1637. The artist was born near Utrecht in the Netherlands in about 1600. He was in Rome studying art after the age of fifteen and seventeen years later he went to Naples where he stayed for eight years. Moving on to Sicily he painted for churches in Caccamo and Monreale and sold three paintings to the duke of Messina. He painted an alter piece for the church in Chiuduno in northern Italy in 1652 and disappears from records thereafter. He was heavily influenced by Caravaggio which is shown in this piece which was produced in Naples between 1633 and 1637. This painting is an oil on canvas and measures 49.2 by 38.9 inches and in the Museo del Prado in Madrid.
