This is a reproduction of “Early Morning on the Jordan River” a study of the effect of morning sunlight interacting with a mist coming off the Jordan River that forms the boundary between the West Bank and the Kingdom of Jordan. This historic and religious river has an importance in world history far out of proportion to its physical nature. It is 156 miles long and marks the site of the entrance of the Jewish People into Canaan as well as the body of water in which Jesus was baptized prior to the inauguration of his ministry. This image attempts to portray and convey some of the magical nature of the Jordan.
