Saint Sebastian Long Sleeve T-Shirt

This is reproduction of “Saint Sebastian” of 1910 by Albert Weisgerber. The original painting is an oil on canvas and measures 122.8 by 104.5 centimeters. It is in the Museum St. Ingbert in the Saarland, Germany. The artist was born in 1878 in Sankt Ingbert near Saarbrucken, Germany and began his art studies at the age of nineteen at the Munich Art Academy under Franz von Stuck. He was friends with Wassily Kandinsky and others and set up his own artist’s group in 1898. He married in 1907 and six years later was the founding president of the artist collective, Munchner Neue Secession. He served in World War I in which he rose to the rank of major before his death in the Battle of Fromelles on May 10, 1915.
