Description

This a reproduction of Albrecht Durer's Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse of 1498. It is the third and most famous woodcut from the dramatically distilled version of the book of Revelation entitled, The Apocalypse. The horsemen are , from left to right, Death, Famine, War and Pestilence. The great German artist and engraver produced this at the age of twenty-eight. He died in 1528. One of the original impressions of this masterwork is now in possession of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City.
